I would like to thank you for visiting my website. As you can see, its main purpose is to show my potential as a web developer to employers and clients; however, there are many more aspects of my personality and various activities I enjoy a great deal, all of which will find their own little corner within the website.

I have a deep respect for knowledge and the pursuit of science in almost any field; expect video lectures, scientific news, papers and documentaries aimed at the general public.

Before I end this short introduction, I would like to let you know that this is merely the beginning of my work. As I continue to invest more time and passion into the things I love, this website will grow right along with me.

HTML5

HTML5 is a markup language for structuring and presenting content for the World Wide Web and a core technology of the Internet. It is the fifth revision of the HTML standard (created in 1990 and standardized as HTML4 as of 1997) and, as of December 2012, is a W3C Candidate Recommendation.

CSS3

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used for describing the presentation semantics (the look and formatting) of a document written in a markup language. Its most common application is to style web pages written in HTML and XHTML, but the language can also be applied to any kind of XML document, including plain XML, SVG and XUL.

JavaScript with JQuery

JavaScript (JS) is an interpreted computer programming language. It was originally implemented as part of web browsers so that client-side scripts may interact with the user, control the browser, communicate asynchronously and alter the document content that is displayed.

AJAX

Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) is a group of interrelated web development techniques used on the client-side to create asynchronous web applications. With Ajax, web applications can send data to, and retrieve data from, a server asynchronously (in the background) without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page.

PHP5.4

PHP is an open-source server-side scripting language designed for Web development to produce dynamic Web pages. It is one of the first developed server-side scripting languages to be embedded into an HTML source document rather than calling an external file to process data. The code is interpreted by a Web server with a PHP processor module which generates the resulting Web page.

MySQL

MySQL is the world's most used open source relational database management system (RDBMS) as of 2008 that runs as a server providing multi-user access to a number of databases.

Drupal 7

Drupal is a free and open-source content management framework (CMF) written in PHP and distributed under the GNU General Public License. It is used as a back-end system for at least 2.1% of all websites worldwide ranging from personal blogs to corporate, political, and government sites including whitehouse.gov and data.gov.uk. It is also used for knowledge management and business collaboration.

Basic SEO and Schema.org

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic") search results.

In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users.
